Man drowns in Peter Pond Lake

The body of a missing boater from Buffalo Narrows has been recovered, said Buffalo Narrows RCMP.

Officers received a report of a missing boater on July 5 and found the man’s boat idling in Peter Pond lake.

Officers along with local residents and conservation officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch began searching the water and shoreline for the male.

The body of the 61-year-old man was found the following day in the water. His family has been notified.

Buffalo Narrows RCMP thanks all those who assisted in the search.
