March was driest on record in La Ronge
Like many communities across the province, La Ronge broke a record for lack of precipitation in March.
“La Ronge came in with 2.4 millimeters of rain compared to 21.2 millimeters (on average),” Environment and Climate Change Canada Meteorologist Terri Lang said. “That made it the driest March in 53 years of records.”
It was dry all around the province, however, as Lang stated Estevan and Moose Jaw had the least amount of precipitation with only 0.2 millimeters. Prince Albert was the fifth driest with 2.4 millimeters. At the weather stations in those communities, Lang noted, precipitation records go back much further than in La Ronge.
