Conservation officers find wasted fish at Bigstone Lake boat launch

Jun 17, 2019 | 4:59 PM

Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Environment is encouraging residents to call its Turn In Poachers (TIP) hotline if anyone has information about wasted fish at Bigstone Lake.

According to a media release, on June 4 conservation officers in La Ronge received a TIP call regarding fish left to waste near the boat launch on Bigstone Lake approximately seven kilometers west of La Ronge. Officers found 14 whole walleye and one whole perch on the shoreline, all of which appeared to be less than 24-hours-old.

If anyone has information they should call the toll-free TIP line at 1-800-667-7561 or #5555 from a SaskTel cellphone or online here. Those who call can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward if information provided leads to a conviction.
