Suspect arrested after man assaulted with machete

La Loche RCMP charged one man with aggravated assault after another man was assaulted with a machete earlier this week.

On July 6 around 3 p.m., Mounties responded to a 911 call on the Clearwater Dene First Nation.

The complainant reported a man broke into his home and assaulted him while he was asleep.

RCMP officers attended the home and observed the man had extensive injuries, including on his face, and was taken to hospital.

Daniel Norman Lemaigre, born in 1988, was charged with break and enter to commit an indictable offence, aggravated assault, unlawfully in a dwelling house, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, unlawfully at large, resisting arrest, uttering threats, assault and mischief.
