RCMP seize crack cocaine during LLRIB drug bust
La Ronge RCMP seized 115 grams of crack cocaine July 17 on the Lac La Ronge First Nation with assistance from the Meadow Lake Police Dog Service.
That’s according to an RCMP media release, which states one male was arrested prior to the search warrant being executed while a second male was arrested during the search. Along with the crack cocaine, officers seized a small amount of cash, a sawed-off rifle and marijuana. Additionally, a large amount of cash was located on the first man arrested, police say.
As a result of the search, Dennis Riley Charles, 43, from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking cocaine, unlawful possession of cannabis, unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of a prohibited firearm when not licenced and possession of a firearm when prohibited.
Also charged is John Riley Sanderson, 31, from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking cocaine and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
