Pair arrested in Stanley Mission for allegedly forcibly administering methamphetamine

Two people were arrested after administering what police believe to be methamphetamine to a 19-year-old victim in Stanley Mission.

That’s according to an RCMP media release, which stated on May 19 the Stanley Mission detachment received a 911 call from a residence in the community for a reported assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old female in medical distress who was reportedly forcibly injected with a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Police noted a male and female were arrested at the scene and several intravenous needles were seized from the individuals involved. The female victim was transported to hospital in La Ronge and released the following morning.

Charlene Young, 39, and Stanley Starblanket, 41, both from Saskatoon, were held in custody for court in Stanley Mission on May 21.

Young is charged with administering a noxious substance, assault with a weapon, failure to comply with a release order, possession of a controlled substance and trafficking of a controlled substance. Starblanket was charged with administering a noxious substance, assault with a weapon, possession of a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance.

Stanley Starblanket was remanded into custody and is scheduled to make his next appearance in La Ronge court on May 27. Charlene Young was released from custody on a release order including several conditions is scheduled to make her next court appearance in Stanley Mission June 9.
