La Ronge RCMP have laid charges in a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run incident.

That’s according to an RCMP media release, which states on June 14 shortly after midnight, officers were dispatched to the report of an unconscious male located on Queen St. Upon arrival, police located an adult man who was unconscious and displayed injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.

As officers continued to investigate, the RCMP Operational Communication Centre received a report from an adult female claiming she hit someone while driving on Queen St. Officers located the adult female at a residence where a truck with visible front-end damage was parked in the driveway. RCMP noted the female displayed visible signs of intoxication and was arrested without incident.

A Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstructionist completed an examination of the scene. The victim has been identified and his name will not be released. RCMP added his family has been notified and Victim Services has been offered.
