Virtual Napatak Ramble planned for end of June

Hundreds of music lovers attend the Napatak Ramble at Rabbit Creek annually, but this year Founder Colin Jolly is asking fans to join online using Facebook.

The main event was cancelled due to coronavirus concerns, but Jolly said after a few sleepless nights, he came up with the idea of hosting the event virtually. It will be held June 27 at 7 p.m. via a watch party on the Napatak Ramble Facebook page.

“Basically, we have taken all our favourite bands who played at the Ramble in the last eight years and sent a message out, and they all seem very keen on helping us out,” Jolly said. “Each of them are going to send a little video and send a little story, and I’m going to put it on one big video.”

The free entertainment includes Nathaniel William from The Dead South, Shred Kelly, Bambargo, Rosanna Burrill of Hillsburn, Eliza Doyle, Rugged Little Thing, Roman Clarke, Funky Bus, The Roaring Borealis, Dara Schindelka, Dave Russell, Cabin Fever, Andria Roberts and more.

Jolly also noted there will be some local vendors who will be explaining their art to the public.

“This is definitely something nobody could have imagined coming,” he said of the pandemic. “We’re taking the best of what we got and still trying to bring some music and art to the community, and this is the best way we know how.”
