La Ronge hits average precipitation rate for July with more than a week to go
July is set to be another wet month for La Ronge as the area has already reached its monthly average precipitation rate with another eight days to go.
“The area around La Ronge saw anywhere from 200 to 250 to 300 millimetres of precipitation since April 1,” warning preparedness meteorologist Natalie Hasell said. “The month of July isn’t over yet, but you are already at 80.2 mm of precipitation and the normal is 80.5 mm. Unfortunately, the forecast is calling for more precipitation.”
Environment Canada is forecasting more rain for the next four days in La Ronge. There’s a 30 per cent chance of thunderstorms for Thursday and Friday, while Saturday and Sunday will bring showers. Starting Monday, it will be sunny with temperatures reaching up to 29 degrees Celsius.
“Right now, the forecast from July 27 to 29 is sunny and hot,” Hasell said. “That might be a nice few days for you guys to dry out.”
