Alcohol seized at Wollaston Lake, four charged with bootlegging
Four adults have been charged with bootlegging in Wollaston Lake.
According to an RCMP media release, on the morning of Aug. 16, a boat was stopped after having come from Barge Landing and docking at Hatchet Lake Dene Nation near the community of Wollaston Lake. An investigation revealed a large amount of alcohol may have been on board for potential resale within the community.
Barge Landing provides a link between Saskatchewan Highway 905 and Wollaston Lake.
Police noted there were four adults on the boat and a substantial amount of alcohol was located and seized as part of a search. In all, 58 bottles of hard liquor, and various other bottles and cans of liquor were found.
