Hardware failure reason for Access Communications Internet outage in La Ronge
An Internet service outage with Access Communications on Tuesday was resolved in just over three hours.
That’s according to communications manager Fran Moran, who said a number of communities in Saskatchewan were affected including Biggar, La Ronge, Meadow Lake, Nipawin, and Rosetown. He explained Access was notified out the outage at 6:48 p.m. and all services were restored by 10:15 p.m.
“We had an extended outage,” Moran said. “It was a fibre transceiver that required replacement in one of our provider’s core routers. It was something that needed to be replaced on-site in Saskatoon.”
Moran also mentioned the outage had nothing to do with the work being done or has already been done to boost Internet speeds throughout the province.
