Large-scale search for missing boater currently underway at Weyakwin Lake: RCMP

A large-scale search is currently underway for a missing boater on Weyakwin Lake.

That’s according to Saskatchewan RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Rob King, who said officers were first notified late in the evening Sept. 23 of an overdue boater who went fishing.

There are currently many people searching for the man including the Canadian Rangers, Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, Montreal Lake RCMP, conservation officers, volunteers, friends and family.

King added the missing man’s boat, which was found in the water, was recovered.

“Today, our underwater recovery team was deployed to the scene and they will be there this afternoon and our search efforts are continuing,” King said.
