LLRIB extends condolences to family of late Elder Jacob Venne
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) would like to extend warmth, prayers and condolences to the family and friends of the late Elder Jacob George Venne, who passed away Sept. 22.
That’s according to a media release, which states funeral services for Venne will take place at Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge on Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. Please be respectful of COVID guidelines and safety protocols.
“Our community and our leadership respected and admired the hard work and dedication of Elder Jacob Venne. He will be deeply missed, and our community is mourning a great loss” LLRIB Chief Tammy Cook-Searson said. “He worked at the La Ronge sawmill before transitioning into the northern forests with Saskatchewan Parks for over 25 years. He also served on our community’s Council of Elders for the last two terms. He was an avid trapper, hunter and fishermen. It is always a sad to lose a valuable member of the community and our sincere condolences and prayers go out to Elder Venne’s family, friends and community.”
