La Ronge Dairy Queen raising funds for children at Saskatchewan Hospital
La Ronge Dairy Queen Grill and Chill is raising money for sick and injured children receiving treatment at Saskatchewan Hospital.
According to a media release, the fundraising promotion will run between Oct. 5 to 11 and Dairy Queen customers in La Ronge are invited to take part. As part of the fundraising initiative, $2 or more will be donated from every Blizzard sold or $5 will be donated for every DQ Cake or Blizzard Cake 8-inches or larger sold. Funds will be raised through in-store, pick-up and drive thru orders.
“On average, 35,000 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network hospital each week,” the release states. “That’s 5,000 per day or 62 per minute. To support the children and their families receiving treatment at Saskatchewan Hospital, Dairy Queen employees, franchisees, volunteers and stakeholders come together throughout the year to help raise funds.”
The release also notes since the partnership began in 1984, Dairy Queen has become a top contributor to Children’s Miracle Network with more than $135 million raised to-date in support of sick and injured children across North America. larongeNOW reached out to Dairy Queen about how much funds have locally been raised, but didn’t receive an amount by publishing.
