Snowfall warning in effect for La Ronge and other communities
Environment and Climate Change Canada Meteorologist Terri Lang is recommending those who have travels plans tonight to reconsider if they live in a number of communities.
“The roads are starting to turn bad and snow covered,” she said. “If they really do have to travel, they should check the Highway Hotline before heading out because it really is going to be a nasty night with the winds and that snow coming down.”
There’s currently a weather system bringing a snowfall warning to a number of central Saskatchewan communities like Cumberland House, La Ronge, Meadow Lake, Pelican Narrows and Pinehouse Lake. Lang noted those places will receive between 15 to 20 centimeters of snow with likely even more in some regions.
The wind is expected to be between 30 to 50 kilometers per hour and exposed areas will see blowing snow.
