La Ronge RCMP have charged two individuals for break-and-enter and a number of other offences.

According to an RCMP new release, on Dec. 14 at 8:47 a.m., the La Ronge RCMP received a call of a residential break-and-enter in progress. Several officers from the La Ronge detachment immediately attended to the location and made extensive patrols on foot and in police vehicles.

A short while later, officers located and arrested 18-year-old Dion Anthony Charles of the La Ronge area, and a male young offender who cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act. As the location of the arrests were in close proximity to both Pre-Cam and Churchill Community High Schools, the schools briefly went into a hold and secure until such time that both males were safely in custody.

Charles has been charged with break-and-enter, robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats, mischief and failure to comply. The young offender was charged with break-and-enter, robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats, mischief and two counts of breach of probation.
