Arrest made in murder of Muhammad Venne

After a lengthy investigation, an arrest was made in relation to the death of Muhammad Venne on Jan. 25.
According to a media release, Keagan Nelson-Smith, 21, of Hall Lake, Sask., has been charged with second-degree murder. Nelson-Smith will make his first court appearance Jan. 28 at La Ronge Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m.
Venne, 29, was found outside of a residence on Bells Point on June 3, 2020, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by ambulance, but he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival.
A couple months after his murder, a walk was held to bring awareness to the case.
