Seasoned financial advisor brings wealth of expertise to Prince Albert

One of the top investment advisory firms in Canada has opened its doors in Prince Albert with a local resident at the helm.

Cole Kachur, Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Wellington-Altus Private Wealth and head of the Kachur Wealth Group opened a secondary office in the Gateway City to take advantage of the opportunities within the market he was born and raised in.

“From a wealth management perspective, Prince Albert is very underserviced and there are a lot of investors paying significantly too much in fees for below average returns and service,” Kachur said. “Over the past decade, my team and I have received nation-wide recognition for the outstanding work we do for our clients. Wellington-Altus Private Wealth was the top-rated wealth advisory company in the 2020 Brokerage Report Card which measures investment firms based on several criteria including advisor support, production selection and corporate stability. They have more than $10 billion in assets under administration and cater to high-net-worth clients. Kachur said that success is due in large part to the company’s entrepreneurial culture. Since he owns a portion of Wellington-Altus Private Wealth, he is focused on ensuring clients have the best experience.

“That’s how we end up getting referrals and building stronger long-term relationships. I’m invested in the underlying company and that investment is based on having clients that are happy and successful.”

An independent model means the focus stays on the client’s best interest.

“We have a little bit more flexibility and autonomy in terms of the pricing structures that we use verses a lot of our competition. On average, I find we’re able to save most clients thousands of dollars a year just in terms of having some different products and better pricing and that ends up putting money back into our client’s pocket.”

Kachur’s success and expertise in the industry has not gone unnoticed. He has been nominated as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Financial Professionals in Canada by the Investment Industry Association of Canada the past four years and often appears on BNN Bloomberg’s flagship show Market Call where he has become a top-rated advisor in terms of viewership and the only advisor from Saskatchewan invited to appear on the show.
