Apr 19, 2021 | 5:25 PM

UPDATE: The RCMP have reported Monday evening they found Richard McKenzie dead in the water. They have also reported on Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m. Cindy Roberts was found dead in the water by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.

The Stanley Mission RCMP are looking for two people after they left Grandmother’s Bay on snowmobiles and have not been heard from or seen since. The third member, an adult woman was found dead today in a body of water.

According to a media release, they left Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. reportedly travelling to Stanley Mission. Police say the machines they are travelling on are two older models, a blue Polaris and a magenta-coloured snowmobile.

Police are concerned the missing individuals and their snowmobiles may have broken through ice due to the spring weather.

There were tracks discovered by the Grandmother’s Bay Search and Rescue that led to open water. The female’s body was later found in the water.

The missing people are Richard Mckenzie, a 26-year-old wearing a grey sweater, black joggers and a black and red hat. The other is Cindy Roberts, a 38-year old who was wearing a black jacket.

The search and rescue team are continuing to look for the missing individuals alongside Civil Air Search and Rescue Association searching the shorelines.

Those who have any information or who have seen the missing persons are being asked to contact La Ronge or Stanley Mission RCMP.
