La Ronge RCMP arrest teen in relation to assault on two children

An arrest has been made in relation to two children assaulted in Bell’s Point.

According to an RCMP media release, the La Ronge General Investigation Section arrested a 13-year-old female from the La Ronge area on June 2. The arrest is in relation to the investigation into the assault on two children that occurred May 29 in a wooded area near the 400-block of Bell’s Point Road.

Investigators do not believe the incident is random in nature.

The 13-year-old female, who cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and was held to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on June 3 at 9:30 a.m. RCMP cannot provide any further information about the youth as it may potentially identify them.
