‘Warmer than it was last summer’: Meteorologist gives insight into next few months

Jun 22, 2021 | 10:04 AM

Summer officially kicked off Sunday and according to Environment Canada, it’s going to be a scorcher.

“Our models are showing warmer-than-normal temperatures certainly for what’s left of June, into July and August,” meteorologist David Phillips said Tuesday.

“(It’ll be) warmer than it was last summer. There has definitely been a dress-rehearsal preview of what I think the summer is going to be like.”

A high ridge of pressure from the U.S. is bringing a heat wave to British Columbia and it’s expected to sweep through the prairies later in the week.
