More than 700 groups receive charitable gaming grants in Sask.

Community groups and organizations from A to Z — from Abbey to Zenon Park — received more than $2.1 million in funding from the Saskatchewan government in the latest round of the province’s charitable gaming grant program.

More than 700 recipients across the province got grants.

The quarterly grants paid by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority are based on a percentage of net proceeds raised through licensed charitable gaming activities such as bingos, raffles, break-open tickets, Texas Hold’em Poker and Monte Carlo events.

Charitable gaming reports submitted by groups as part of their charitable gaming licence are used by SLGA to automatically calculate the amount of their grants.
