Assistance for Evacuees
Service Canada is aware that there are a number of communities that have been evacuated due to wildfire activity. Many of these evacuees are in, or coming to the Prince Albert area. If anyone needs assistance from Service Canada (i.e. Employment Insurance, Old Age Security, Canada Pension Plan, SINs) there three ways people can get help from us:
1. The Online Service Request form: Canada.ca/service-canada-e-service. The client simply indicates their concern and provides a phone number where they can be contacted. If the client is looking to book an appointment at a Service Canada Centre, they can indicate that on the request form. Once the service request is submitted, a Service Canada representative will contact the individual within 2 business days at the phone number they have provided.
2. The Outreach Support Centre (OSC): 1-877-631-2657. Clients can call this toll-free number to obtain virtually the same level of service that is available at one or our Service Canada Centres. Staff can complete EI, OAS, and CPP applications for clients over the phone and provide information about their payments.
3. Visiting the Service Canada Centre at the South Hill Mall (2295 2nd Ave West, Prince Albert). Open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The office is still subject to reduced occupancy due to COVID-19 concerns, so it is recommended that clients first try one of the other two service options. If it is determined that a visit to the office is necessary, an appointment can be made through either the Online Service Request process or the Outreach Support Centre.
