Fifty new COVID-19 cases, 51 recoveries reported today in Saskatchewan

The provincial government is reporting another 50 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan today, 22 of which have been reported in the six northern zones of the province.

This brings the provincial total to 49,830 cases; 48,876 total recoveries and 376 cases considered active.

In the northern zones, there are currently 243 active cases of COVID-19.

Fifteen Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province were added to the following zones: Far North West, six; Far North East, one; North West, four; Saskatoon, two; and Central West, two.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 10; Far North Central, eight; North West, one; North Central, two; and North East, one. Two cases are pending residence information

One case with location pending was assigned to the North Central zone.

No new deaths were reported today.

NITHA Data

As of July 27, there are 133 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 17; Far North West, 79; Far North East, 36; North Central, 0; and North East, one.

There are 51 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; four, Far North West, 41; and Far North East, six; North Central, 0; and North East, 0.

There have been 3,918 cases (96 per cent) that have recovered, and one person is hospitalized.

Vaccines Reported

An additional 4,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,394,825.

The additional 4,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 53; Far North Central, one; Far North East, 104; North West, 375; North Central, 315; North East, 257; Saskatoon, 1,086; Central West, 193; Central East, 301; Regina, 1,125; South West, 76; South Central, 69; and South East, 441. There were 166 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-four per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 63 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
