New judge appointed to provincial court in La Ronge
Dorinda Mae Stahl believes becoming the new provincial court judge in La Ronge is an incredible honour and responsibility she won’t take lightly.
“As I move forward and learn about this new role, I am also planning to learn and listen to and from the community about what justice means for everyone, and to move forward in that regard,” she said.
Stahl was been a Crown prosecutor in La Ronge since August 2019, but she received her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2005 and was called to the bar in 2006. After two years in private practice, she started a career in 2008 as a Crown prosecutor with the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Public Prosecutions Branch.
Stahl has practiced civil, family, and criminal law. In her position as a Crown prosecutor, Stahl has prosecuted a wide variety of matters including cases related to drinking and driving, youth offences and domestic violence.
