Traffic safety blitz occurring in tri-communities this month

Nov 30, 2021 | 12:00 PM

The Prince Albert Combined Traffic Services Section (CTSS) will be in the tri-communities Dec. 9 and 10 to focus on driving offenses.

“The CTSS members will be looking for offenses under the Traffic Safety Act and the Vehicle Equipment Regulations, as well as criminal code offenses such as impaired driving,” La Ronge RCMP Staff Sgt. Dean Bridle wrote in an email to larongeNOW.

He explained speeding, seatbelts, cellphone use, licensing, vehicle registration, broken windshields, window tint, inadequate exhaust, inadequate tires, and inadequate fenders or mud flaps are all common reasons motorists could be pulled over.

The Combined Traffic Services Section is made up of officers from the RCMP and various municipal police forces across the province. Bridle noted the officers that accompany the RCMP to La Ronge will most likely be from the Prince Albert Police Service.
