Napatāk Ramble board launches campaign to construct new stage

Feb 22, 2022 | 12:29 PM

Organizers of the Napatāk Ramble want tri-community residents and past festival attendees to consider donating to their latest fundraiser.

The Buy-A-Board Campaign was launched last week as a means of generating enough funds to build a permanent stage in Potato Lake. Board member Kelly Graham explained the money would be used for lumber and construction costs.

“We’re moving it to our tenth year as a music festival in the tri-community area and we are fortunate enough that over the last year or two we have found a permanent location,” he said. “Now we want to build a permanent stage and we can use the event site, not just on Ramble weekend, but hopefully for other events throughout the year.”

There is a minimum donation requirement of $10, but a donation of $20 or higher gets the donors name on a commemorative plaque. They will also be given entry into a yearly draw for four weekend passes and camping at the Napatāk Ramble.

Those interested in donating can do so here by following instructions on the Napatāk Ramble website. Charitable receipts can be issued upon request.

“I think a lot of it depends on the cost of lumber and who is going to be building it, but I think what we would like to do is we would like our Buy-A-Board project to raise $10,000 and then hopefully Cherry Treehouse Musical Education Fund would match the $10,000. We’re looking at least a $20,000 project.”

The stage is expected to be approximately 40-feet by 24-feet and it’s unknown whether it will be ready for this year’s festival on Canada Day. If not, Graham noted organizers will be able to source a temporary stage and will aim for the permanent stage to be finished in time for 2023.
