First Nations leaders honour RCMP officers from Spiritwood
In what was heralded as a once in a lifetime occasion, members of the RCMP were honoured by a Saskatchewan First Nation.
Members of Witchekan Lake First Nation were joined by representatives from Treaty 6, The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) and the RCMP for the ceremony to commemorate seven officers from the Spiritwood Detachment.
Earlier this month, Spiritwood RCMP found two suspicious vehicles on the First Nation which resulted in a search of a home and the arrest of four men.
