Power outages scheduled for Grandmother’s Bay, sections of tri-community

Apr 20, 2022 | 5:00 PM

There will be a power outage Thursday afternoon affecting some residents of the tri-communities.

A spokesperson for SaskPower explained crews will be in the area replacing a crossarm on a pole, which will result in an outage from approximately 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. It will affect residents east of Highway 102 including Anson St., Beaver St., Cessna East, Piper Place, Dehavilland Ave., Aztec St, Canso St., Stinsin St., Norseman St., Far Reserve Road, Otter St., Nikik Road and Jimmy Roberts Road.

Another outage is scheduled to occur May 11 in Grandmother’s Bay. SaskPower will be in that community replacing a crossarm as well.

Although it is currently a slow period for SaskPower crews as the snow melts, the Crown corporation has plans to upgrade some transformers in the area in the coming months too.
