Increased police presence at Bells Point

UPDATE: The La Ronge RCMP have reported a man has been pronounced dead after and his death has been considered suspicious.

This morning at 4 a.m. the RCMP attended a call in Bells Point in La Ronge after a report of shots fired outside a residence. The police say they found an injured man and he was pronounced dead on scene.

Three people have been arrested but no charges have been laid as the investigators are in the early stages of the investigation.

Police cannot provide further details and said there will continue to be an increased police presence as the investigation continues. They will provide an update when it becomes available.

La Ronge RCMP is asking people to avoid Bells Point due to an increased police presence.

RCMP did not specify the reason for the police presence only saying in a release Tuesday morning, that they will provide an update with more information as soon as they’re able.

Police will notify residents if they feel there is an increased risk to public safety.
