James Smith First Nation set to be home to a new arena for youth
James Smith First Nation will be home to a brand new arena centred around giving youth a safe place to hang out.
After two years of fighting with COVID-19, the youth at James Smith First Nation and Exterra Developments came together to build a facility to keep youth engaged.
KJ Bird, co-owners of Exterra Developments told northeastNOW the first step was sitting down with Cheif Wally Burns and other members of leadership in the community.
“They had a vision for something for the youth because of COVID. They are just bored and having a hard time getting adjusted to being isolated and not having a normal life.”
