Tri-community summer programming popular among youth
Summer camps and programs in the tri-communities are proving to be popular with children and youth.
The TD Summer Reading Program at La Ronge’s Alex Robertson Public Library is underway and administrator Sean Stares explained there are 15 people on the waiting list. It runs Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Stares noted he didn’t need to advertise it because it’s so popular.
“There is a lot of demand in the community right now for these programs,” adding participants are between five to 11 years old. “They get a story time and then free reading. They go out and they play games outside and then they come in and they do a craft and do some more free reading.”
The TD Summer Reading Program began July 4 and continues until Aug. 19.
