Warrant issued for Pelican Narrows man following assault

Pelican Narrows RCMP is asking you to be on the lookout for Quinton Merasty.

The 28-year-old was involved in an assault on a woman in the community after RCMP were called to a home on McKay Road on July 30.

Officers located the injured woman, who was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, Merasty, who is from Pelican Narrows, was charged with one count of assault with a weapon, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Merasty is also wanted on charges related to an investigation into a July 17 incident at a home on Kaskew Street in Pelican Narrows. At approximately 9:20 a.m. that day, officers received a report that a man had attended a home and threatened the occupants with a firearm. Merasty was charged with:

• two counts, assault with a weapon;
• one count, using a firearm in the commission of an offence;
• one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
• one count, uttering threats;
• one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized;
• one count, weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization;
• one count, fail to comply with release order condition.

Pelican Narrows RCMP has been working to find and arrest Merasty and are now asking for help in locating him.

Merasty stands approximately 5-6 and 150 lb. He has black hair and brown eyes and tattoos above his right eyebrow, beside his right eye and on his right jawline.
