Sep 7, 2022 | 3:04 PM

There may be a break in the search for a suspect charged in connection to the stabbing incident that left 11 dead and 18 others wounded.

RCMP issued an alert around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon saying an individual reported to be armed with a knife is travelling in a 2008 white Chevy Avalanche with Saskatchewan licence plate 953 LPL. The vehicle was reported as stolen out of Wakaw, 64 km south of Prince Albert, around 2:10 p.m. and was last seen travelling in Wakaw on Cemetary Road. The direction of travel is unknown.

Police said unknown persons are involved but they believe this may be related to the Melfort dangerous person alert issued Sunday, Sept. 4. for Myles Sanderson.

RCMP say if you are in the Wakaw area, seek immediate shelter/shelter in place. Use caution allowing others into your residence. Do not leave a secure location. Do not approach suspicious persons. Do not pick up hitchikers. Call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
