The local business was incorporated more than 45 years ago. Brian Middlebrook has been at the helm for 25 years, while his wife joined in to operate the office a decade ago. Together with their helpful and knowledgeable staff, they’re bringing products, prices, experience, and service that far surpasses what customers expect.

“Lots of people think they need to go to Saskatoon to get what they want, but we’ve got stock – just piles and piles of stock,” said Middlebrook. “Other stores have gone with the ‘special order’ model but we’ve always been a stocking store and there are actually just a few of us left in Saskatchewan.”

Carpet World’s selection and service will floor you, and so will the pricing. The store has been able to maintain pre-COVID pricing because they stock so much in their 15,000 sq foot store and in a 20,000 sq foot building off site.

“We’re always buying semi-loads at a time, instead of just one or two ‘one-offs’ – so that’s helped us with pricing to be competitive and we actually have a lot of things on our floor that cost less now than they did two years ago.”

Every job begins in the store, where customers can make informed decisions about what type of flooring they’re looking for. Carpet World carries an incredible selection of comfortable, stain resistant carpets, high quality waterproof laminate from Germany, vinyl plank, hardwood, resilient flooring, and ceramic tiles among other products. Once the customer knows what they want, a free estimate is conducted by Middlebrook himself.

“When people buy out of market, they don’t get the service after the sale that they deserve. For us, its so important to make sure people are happy with their product and there are no hidden costs or surprises,” he said.

A professional installation team is available to finish the project for you or assist with tips and some supplies such as glue, trowels and staples (sold in store) needed for a DIY project.

Flooring is an investment and Middlebrook said they can cater to all budgets. Carpet World offers financing on approved credit through a company called Financeit. Customers can apply online and find out if they pre-qualify in seconds, with no obligation or commitment.

Buying locally through Carpet World means you’re giving back to the community too. Middlebrook donates to several charities through the company including Children’s Haven.

While carpeting may have taken a backseat to hardwood and laminate flooring options the last several years, Middlebrook said it’s making a comeback in spaces where warmth and comfort are paramount.

“Bedrooms, kid’s playrooms, and basements, carpet is the clear choice,” Middlebrook said.

“Fortunately, it’s not making a comeback in the bathrooms,” he laughed.
