La Ronge RCMP charge two with possession, trafficking of cocaine

Two people from La Ronge have been charged with cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking.

According to an RCMP media release, the La Ronge RCMP recently executed two search warrants at residences in the La Ronge area.

At a residence on Studer Street, officers located and seized approximately 40 grams of cocaine, trafficking paraphernalia and a sum of cash.

Thirty-year-old Megan Morin and 31-year-old Brenon Bird, both from La Ronge, are each charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000.

Megan Morin will appear on Dec. 12 and Brenon Bird will appear on Dec. 5, both in La Ronge Provincial Court.

The second search warrant was executed at a residence on Queen Street, where officers located and seized approximately nine kilograms of cannabis, trafficking paraphernalia and 48 cartons of illegal cigarettes.

As a result, 41-year-old Caroline Ratt is charged with possession of proceeds under $5,000, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing.

She will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Dec. 5.
