Nov 24, 2022 | 4:37 PM

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band announced Thursday all members 18 and older are eligible to receive a $300 COVID assistance cheque.

The notice states the $300 cheques will begin to be distributed Dec. 1. For band members residing on Kitaski reserves, La Ronge, Air Ronge, and nearby areas, cheques will be handed out at Keethanow Bingo North between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Cheques will be available at the Stanley Mission band hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Distribution will also occur at the Grandmother’s Bay, Hall Lake, Little Red River, and Sucker River band offices.

For members outside of the above-mentioned communities, cheques will be mailed Dec. 1.

This is not the first time the Lac La Ronge Indian Band has sent out $300 COVID-related cheques to members. In September 2021, it was announced members who had received two doses of COVID vaccine and who were over the age of 12 would qualify for a $300 payment. The incentive was only open to band members living in Air Ronge, Hall Lake, La Ronge 156/Kitaski 156B, the Town of La Ronge and Sucker River.
