Ice Wolves second in SJHL as teams pause for Christmas break
The La Ronge Ice Wolves sit in second place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League as teams take a break until the New Year.
Out of 34 games, the Ice Wolves have won 21 and lost 13, including two overtime losses and a shootout defeat Saturday night against the Flin Flon Bombers. They currently have 45 points.
The Ice Wolves are trailing the Battlefords North Stars, who have 59 points with 28 wins and three losses. The Ice Wolves are currently in first place in the Sherwood Division.
“It’s probably been a few years that at Christmastime they were in first place [in the division] and second overall,” head coach Kevin Kaminski said.
