Two players from the La Ronge Ice Wolves have received suspensions from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL).

On Jan. 23, it was announced the SJHL Department of Player Safety and Standard of Play had suspended La Ronge’s Ethan Strik for four games for his actions during the Jan. 21 game versus the Estevan Bruins. He received two games for a gross misconduct, one game for third man in the first fight and one game for the second fight during the same stoppage.

After an appeal by the Ice Wolves, the SJHL Supplemental Discipline Committee reviewed and upheld the four-game suspension of Strik. On Jan. 27, it was further announced Hockey Canada, Hockey Saskatchewan and the SJHL had suspended Strik for five games for maltreatment in violation of the Social Media Policy of Hockey Saskatchewan and the SJHL.
