‘Amazing memories and a lot of victories:’ Fajardo says goodbye in Twitter post

Cody Fajardo is bidding farewell to Saskatchewan.

In a Twitter post, Fajardo thanks Rider Nation for making him, his wife Laura, and newborn son Luca “feel like royalty.”

Fajardo said he will always have “amazing memories and a lot of victories” when thinking back on his time in the land of living skies.

After three seasons with Fajardo as their starter, the Riders elected to move away from the 30-year-old quarterback, relegating him to back up for their final two games of the 2022 CFL season.

“I gave you everything I had, from the injuries to the blood, sweat and tears, I laid it all on the line for this province,” Fajardo wrote. “It’s unfortunate it has to end this way and not with a parade and confetti.”

With reports the Riders will be signing Trevor Harris when free agency begins, Fajardo is reportedly set to sign with the Montreal Alouettes when free agency begins on Tuesday.

Fajardo threw for 10,632 yards, with 48 touchdowns and 32 interceptions in his time as Saskatchewan’s starter.
