Grand opening for Boreal Colours set for Monday

A new hair salon in La Ronge is only days away from opening.

“Grand opening is Monday,” owner Karli Carr said. “We are having like a meet and greet with snacks and then Tuesday we will have clients.”

Opening Boreal Colours is a dream come true for Carr, who said she’s wanted to open a salon since she was a child. With some encouragement from her mother, she decided to go for it and found a space for the business along La Ronge Avenue.

Carr began renovations in February and completed upgrades such as painting, plumbing and changes to the interior design. There are three chairs in the salon and Carr will be working alongside her good friend Erin Lindskog. Carr has five years of experience in the industry and Lindskog has 15.

Services offered at Boreal Colours include haircuts, colouring, waxing and tanning with plans to provide facials and spa treatments in the coming months. Appointments can be made online and Carr noted the salon is already booked solid for the first two weeks.

“I was kind of nervous about it at first, but it has been really good,” she said. “We do have a work cellphone, so if people do need to call. We’re also open if people want to walk in.”

Hours of operation will be Tuesday and Thursdays from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 p.m. to 6 p.m. and then every second Saturday will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The salon is closed Mondays.
