Sask. charter company finds buyer, will continue operations

Osprey Wings has found a buyer to take over its charter air service to northern Saskatchewan, and the new owners could be up and flying as early as April.

Alan Johnson, vice president of unique properties at Colliers, confirmed in a statement that Osprey Wings has “entered into an agreement to be acquired by an undisclosed buyer.”

Colliers was the agent to the sale, which it said is still subject to “customary closing conditions.” The identity of the buyer has not yet been revealed.

Staff who were working at Osprey Wings have reportedly agreed to stay with the company under new ownership, “to assist with a seamless transition of the business.”

Johnson said Colliers is working with the buyer to close the transaction as soon as possible. The sale, he added, is expected to be finalized next month.

“The Thompson family placed great importance and value in having Osprey Wings continue operating and serving multiple sectors important to the Saskatchewan economy,” Johnson said.

“The buyer is eager to continue this history and together Osprey Wings staff are now welcoming back Osprey Wings’ clients to book for the 2023 season.”

Melisa Malltezi, manager of PR and communications with Colliers, said that means the business will continue to operate as it has in the past.

She said additional details of the deal couldn’t yet be shared publicly.
