La Ronge RCMP charge three with trafficking cocaine, firearms offenses
La Ronge RCMP and the RCMP Emergency Response Team searched a property on Mirasty Crescent last week in an ongoing drug trafficking and firearms investigation.
According to police, a search of the property resulted in officers locating a rifle, approximately one ounce of cocaine, ammunition, digital scales, baggies, cellphones and other miscellaneous items consistent with drug-trafficking activity.
Police arrested eight people at the scene and five have since been released without charges.
As a result of this investigation, Awab El-Sandali, 21, from Toronto, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and several firearms offences. El-Sandali is scheduled to make his next court appearance in La Ronge on June 1.
