Severe thunderstorm watches in effect for parts of Sask.
After flash flooding left parts of Prince Albert underwater Sunday, other regions of Saskatchewan could see heavy rainfall Monday afternoon.
Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches Monday for the areas around Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, Canora, Esterhazy, Humboldt, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Kamsack, La Loche, Melville, Moosomin and Yorkton.
“Severe thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and will persist into the evening hours. The threat is expected to diminish after sunset,” the weather service said in a statement.
Watches mean conditions are right for the development of severe storms. If storms do develop or are imminent, Environment Canada said it will upgrade the watches to warnings.
