Blasting north of La Ronge expected during next two weeks

Blasting originally scheduled by Potzus Paving Ltd. in their quarry for on or around Dec. 15 related to the Highway 102 $28 million upgrade project has changed.

That’s according to an email from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, which states it is now expected to start on Dec. 13, followed by up to three more blasts ending no later than Dec. 23.

Plans changed as quarry conditions were different than originally anticipated. The contractor has committed that no blasting will occur on Dec. 24, 25 and 26.

If issues arise such as unexpected quarry conditions or equipment breakdowns, additional blasting will occur in the future.
