New coffee shop opens in Northlands College’s Canoe Campus

Northlands College has announced the inauguration of its new coffee shop at the Canoe Campus in La Ronge.

That’s according to a media release issued Monday, which states the addition marks a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to providing enhanced learning opportunities for its learners.

The coffee shop has been named Canoe Café and is meant to represent a pioneering venture into work-integrated learning at Northlands College. The new shop will serve as a dynamic laboratory for students to develop and refine a wide array of essential skills.

“The inauguration of the coffee shop emphasizes our unwavering commitment to empowering learners and fostering holistic development within our community,” said Karsten Henriksen, the president and CEO of Northlands College.

“By providing a platform for learners to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, we are not only preparing them for successful careers but also instilling in them the confidence and resilience needed to overcome challenges and seize opportunities.”

The Canoe Café is a learning opportunity for adult learners who want to complete their education and gain practical workplace skills. It will serve as a platform for nurturing confidence and decision-making abilities in learners.
