Residents of the tri-communities will soon have a new option when it comes to dining.

Taco Time is expected to open its doors by the end of June, ushering in new food options not offered anywhere else. Rao Aamir is the owner of the new restaurant and he explained construction just started.

“Northerners don’t have more choices right now,” he said.

“There’s a lot of pizza and chicken in town already. So, I thought I should bring something different and healthier food to town. The Mexican people love Mexican food and Taco Time is selling delicious tacos. Everyone loves Taco Time and that’s why I thought I should bring Taco Time to town and bring more choices in the food.”

The location will open in a leased space at the Lake Country Co-op C-Store in La Ronge. With such limited space, Aamir noted there will only be around 10 dine-in space as the fast food restaurant will have more of a focus on take-out.

Taco Time sells a variety of food items such as tacos, burritos, salads, crunchos, quesadillas, mexi-fries, desserts, beverages, and snacks. There will be beef, chicken and veggie options.

“I have been in this town for the last three years and I have fallen in love with the town,” Aamir, who also owns Family Taxi, said.

“People around here are nice, and I’ll try bring something new.”
