La Ronge RCMP lay charges after armed robbery

La Ronge RCMP have laid several charges after an armed robbery in Hall Lake.

According to an RCMP media release, on June 25 at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers received a report of an robbery in Hall Lake.

La Ronge RCMP responded and an investigation determined several people approached an individual, threatened them with a firearm, then pulled them from their vehicle and stole it.

The officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop so officers set up a tire deflation device, which the suspect vehicle ran over.

Police blocked the vehicle and two occupants were arrested without incident. A third resisted, but was later also arrested.

As a result of the investigation, three individuals, all from La Ronge, are each charged with failing to stop for a peace officer, robbery with a firearm, unlicensed possession of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Other firearm related charges were laid, as well as impaired driving charges.

All individuals appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on June 27.
