Police arrest suspect after armed hijacking

La Ronge RCMP is asking the public to report sightings of a 24-year-old man.

Wayne McLeod, from La Ronge, has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, robbery with firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The charges stem from a vehicle hijacking on Studer Street on Nov. 23 at approximately 7 p.m.

An investigation determined a man stole a vehicle from a group of individuals at gunpoint. No physical injuries were reported and the vehicle has since been recovered.

A warrant has been issued for McLeod’s arrest and police are actively working to locate him.

McLeod is described as having dark hair and brown eyes. He has a thin build and he has a small tattoo under one eye and numerous neck tattoos.
