Northerner selected to perform at Telemiracle 49

Dec 4, 2024 | 3:54 PM

Erin Aubichon of Ile-a-la-Crosse has been selected as one of 80 performers who will be featured in next year’s Telemiracle 49 broadcast.

This will mark her third time performing at the fundraiser, having previously done so in 2009 and 2015. Aubichon, who will be featured in the 20-hour broadcast on March 2 during the day, will be singing one of her favourite songs Whatever You Say by Martina McBride.

“I am grateful to be part of Telemiracle and also being able to contribute to the cause,” she said. “It’s a really good cause to be a part of and it’s helping others.”

Aubichon will be the only person participating in Telemiracle 49 from Northern Saskatchewan. The telethon can be seen on the CTV Saskatchewan network, starting at 9 p.m. on March 1 and concluding at 5 p.m. on March 2.

Proceeds of the fundraiser, which is hosted by the Kinsmen Foundation, goes towards improving the independence and quality of life of Saskatchewan residents. The foundation provides specialized mobility and medical equipment to people and organizations throughout the province, as well as travel assistance for residents in need of vital medical treatment outside their home community.

In 2024, the telethon raised more than $6.1 million and it has raised over $165 million since 1977.
